AI Driven Marketer
👋 Hey,
Welcome to the latest edition of The AI Driven Marketer!
Every week, I cut through the noise to bring you the most practical marketing AI news, tools, and a battle-tested automation workflow you can plug directly into your business.
This week was arguably the biggest week in AI agents yet. Let's get into the build.
⚡ The AI Pulse: What Marketers Need to Know
Shopify Merchants Now Sell Inside ChatGPT by Default
Starting March 24, Shopify flipped the switch on Agentic Storefronts for all eligible merchants. Your products are now discoverable and purchasable inside ChatGPT conversations with no app installs, no extra fees, and no action required. AI-attributed orders on Shopify stores are already up 11x since January 2025, and AI-referred traffic is up 7x.
So What? You now have a live distribution channel inside 880 million monthly ChatGPT users at zero extra cost. But showing up is just the baseline. Merchants who write clear, specific, intent-rich product descriptions will get found first. The AI shopper era is not approaching. It is here.
YouTube Kills BrandConnect and Relaunches It as Gemini-Powered Creator Partnerships
Announced at NewFronts on March 23, YouTube's new Creator Partnerships platform replaces the old BrandConnect tool and gives brands access to 3 million+ creators inside Google Ads. Powered by Gemini, you can type a prompt like "US tech creators with high Gen Z retention reviewing fitness gear" and get matched with creators, audience data, and sample videos in seconds.
So What? Influencer discovery used to require an agency or hours of manual research. Now it takes one prompt. Brands that ran creator campaigns through Creator Partnerships saw a 30% conversion lift on boosted Shorts. Even small budgets can now run precisely targeted creator campaigns without a dedicated team.
Anthropic Accidentally Leaks Claude Mythos, Their Most Powerful AI Model Yet
On March 26, a CMS misconfiguration at Anthropic exposed nearly 3,000 unpublished assets, including a draft blog post revealing "Claude Mythos" (internally codenamed Capybara). Anthropic confirmed the model exists and is in limited testing with select partners. Leaked benchmarks show it dramatically outperforms Claude Opus 4.6 on coding, academic reasoning, and cybersecurity at what Anthropic called a "step change" in capability.
So What? This is the clearest signal yet that frontier AI capabilities are accelerating faster than most businesses are adopting them. The benchmarks that feel impressive today will look modest by Q3 2026. Build your AI workflow foundations now, not when you feel forced to catch up.
Model Context Protocol Crosses 97 Million Monthly Installs
On March 25, Anthropic's MCP crossed 97 million monthly SDK downloads, up from roughly 2 million at its November 2024 launch. Every major AI provider now ships MCP-compatible tooling, including OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Cohere, and Mistral. The MCP server ecosystem has grown to over 5,800 community and enterprise servers covering CRMs, cloud platforms, databases, and marketing tools.
So What? MCP is becoming the universal plumbing for AI integrations. For marketers, this means Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI tools will increasingly connect directly to your analytics stack, CRM, and content systems without custom code or expensive middleware. The AI ecosystem is converging on a single standard, and that makes building durable workflows far more practical.

The AI Commerce Readiness Checklist

Shopify Agentic Storefronts just went live. ChatGPT is now a storefront. Gemini, Copilot, and other AI assistants are right behind it. The question is: is your store ready to be found and bought through AI?
Here is a six-step checklist to optimize your products for AI-driven discovery right now. This works whether you run a Shopify store, a digital product shop, or any product-based business.
Step 1: Audit Your Product Descriptions for Clarity
AI models match buyers to products based on the text in your listings. Vague or generic descriptions hurt discoverability.
Are your descriptions specific? "Lightweight 14-inch laptop sleeve with waterproof lining for remote workers" beats "great for on the go."
Do they include use cases? AI matches based on intent. Write what problem the product solves and for whom.
Is the language natural? AI models prefer clear, conversational language over keyword-stuffed copy.
Step 2: Fill In Every Product Data Field
Shopify Catalog uses structured data to surface products in AI conversations. Incomplete fields reduce visibility.
Fill all product attributes: material, dimensions, color, weight, compatibility
Use consistent naming across your catalog
Keep pricing and inventory synced so AI shoppers see accurate information at all times
Step 3: Optimize for Buyer Intent, Not Just Keywords
AI assistants handle questions like "What is the best moisturizer for combination skin under $40?" not keyword searches.
Identify the top three to five questions your ideal buyer asks before purchasing
Make sure your product descriptions directly answer those questions
Add a FAQ section to your highest-traffic product pages to capture intent-rich queries
Step 4: Build Your Review Volume
AI product recommendations factor in review quality and volume.
Set up automated post-purchase review requests (Klaviyo, Okendo, or Judge.me work well)
Respond to reviews, especially negative ones. AI models read sentiment signals.
Work review language back into your product descriptions using the exact words customers use
Step 5: Make Checkout Frictionless
AI shoppers complete purchases in your store checkout. A slow or confusing checkout kills the conversion.
Enable Shop Pay for one-tap checkout
Reduce checkout steps to the absolute minimum required
Test your mobile checkout experience. The majority of AI assistant users are on mobile.
Step 6: Track Your AI-Attributed Traffic
Shopify now shows AI referral attribution in your admin dashboard.
Set up a custom filter in your analytics for AI-referred sessions and orders
Identify which products are getting discovered first via AI channels
Double down by improving the listings that are already getting AI traffic
💡 Key insight: AI discovery rewards clarity. The merchants who write honest, specific, useful product descriptions will win the AI shopping era. If you have already invested in quality product content, you have a head start. If you have not, this week is the right time to start.
That's a wrap for this week in AI.
See you next week,
Rananjay
